Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Nothing Hour is operated by Heyday Focus Inc. These Terms of Service cover the Nothing Hour iPhone app and nothinghour.com. By downloading or using the app, or using our website, you agree to these terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. App Store purchases and use of the app are also subject to applicable Apple terms.

2. App services

2.1 Features

Nothing Hour helps you practise spending time without deliberate entertainment input through:

  • Countdown and count-up quiet sessions.
  • App restrictions using Apple’s Screen Time features, with an essentials allow list.
  • Daily totals, streaks, local practice history, and manual time entries.
  • Everyday missions, lessons, and earned rewards.
  • Supported phone-usage reports and optional reminders.

Nothing Hour is a personal practice tool. It does not provide medical advice or guarantee health, productivity, or screen-time outcomes.

2.2 Pricing and payments

  • Nothing Hour offers a monthly subscription and a separate one-time lifetime purchase through Apple’s App Store.
  • Eligible users receive a seven-day introductory free trial with the monthly subscription. The trial converts to a paid monthly subscription unless cancelled.
  • Prices, trial eligibility, and billing terms appear in your local currency before purchase. Prices and offers vary by region and may change subject to Apple’s rules and applicable law.
  • Monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before renewal. Apple bills your Apple Account according to the terms shown at purchase.
  • Lifetime access is a one-time purchase without a recurring subscription fee. Buying lifetime access does not cancel an existing monthly subscription.

2.3 Cancellation and refunds

You manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account settings. Cancellation stops future renewal; access to a paid subscription continues until the end of its paid billing period, unless the purchase is refunded or revoked.

To avoid a charge after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. See Apple’s cancellation guidance.

Deleting the app or resetting local data does not cancel a subscription. You can restore eligible purchases through the app using the Apple Account associated with the purchase.

Apple handles App Store refund requests through reportaproblem.apple.com. Eligibility and processing follow Apple’s policies and applicable consumer law. We do not guarantee refund approval or a processing time.

2.4 App blocking

Nothing Hour uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks to restrict apps during quiet sessions. Restrictions depend on your permissions, settings, and iOS behavior. We do not guarantee uninterrupted blocking or exact usage-report accuracy.

Countdown Hard Mode does not provide an in-app early-exit control. You remain responsible for choosing suitable session settings and keeping access to essential functions. Screen Time permissions remain under your control in iOS settings.

3. User rights and obligations

  • The app is available to users of all ages.
  • Users under 13 must have parent or guardian consent.
  • Where applicable law requires parent or guardian consent at a higher age, that requirement also applies.
  • If you cannot legally agree to these terms yourself, your parent or guardian must agree on your behalf.

Nothing Hour does not require a user account.

3.2 Acceptable use

You agree to use Nothing Hour lawfully and responsibly. You must not:

  • Interfere with the service, its security, or another person’s use.
  • Bypass purchase verification or obtain paid access without authorization.
  • Copy, distribute, reverse engineer, or extract the app’s source code except where applicable law or a relevant license permits it.
  • Use the service in a way that damages or overburdens our systems.

Nothing Hour and its content remain the property of Heyday Focus Inc. or their respective owners. Your access permits personal use and does not transfer ownership.

4. Changes to the service and terms

We may modify features, purchase options, or availability. Changes remain subject to existing purchase commitments, Apple’s rules, and applicable consumer law.

We update these terms and their effective date when necessary. For material changes, we provide reasonable notice or obtain agreement where required by law.

5. Warranties and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Nothing Hour is provided “as is” and “as available,” without additional warranties. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, exact reporting, or a particular result from using the app.

You are responsible for deciding when and how to use quiet sessions and app restrictions. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, including interruptions or app-blocking behavior.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, warranties, refunds, or other consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

6. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a material violation of these terms, fraud, security risks, or legal requirements, subject to applicable law.

You can stop using Nothing Hour at any time. Stopping use does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage cancellation through your Apple Account settings.
